BeckBeck Hansen (born Bek David Campbell, July 8, 1970) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known by the stage name Beck. With a pop art collage of musical styles, oblique and ironic lyrics, and postmodern arrangements incorporating samples, drum machines, live instrumentation and sound effects, Beck has been hailed by critics and the public throughout his musical career as being amongst the most creative and idiosyncratic musicians of the 1990s and 2000s alternative rock.
Coal ChamberHeavy metal 4some from LA.
DisturbedSnatched by Disturbed from the flow of that tradition, this new brand of metal is like a shark. In their hands, the music is highly evolved, lean and muscular, and has a terrible efficiency and singleness of purpose. None of the twelve songs on Believe, for instance, stretches far beyond the four-minute mark, yet they each possess a strength and epic quality that requires other bands twice as long to convey, if ever.
Front Line AssemblyFront Line Assembly (sometimes written as Frontline Assembly, also known by the acronym FLA) is a Canadian electro-industrial band formed in 1986 by Bill Leeb and Michael Balch after Leeb left Skinny Puppy.
GarbageGarbage have been making smart hard-pop records about desire and disaster, breaking up and starting over, for precisely a decade. It does not come easy for them. Bleed Like Me is only their fourth album in those ten years -- their first since 2001's Beautifulgarbage -- and making it was nearly the end of them. Early fractious sessions ground to a halt when drummer-guitarist Butch Vig -- a celebrity in his own right for his Nineties production work with Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Smashing Pumpkins -- quit the group, effectively killing it.
GodsmackGodsmack is an American hard rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1996. The band comprises founder, frontman and songwriter Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill and drummer Shannon Larkin. Since its formation, Godsmack has released four studio albums, one EP, four DVDs, and one greatest hits collection.
GorillazWhat started out as a lager-fuelled lark ended up a critical fave and the surprise hit of the year. Gorillaz, an arty, transatlantic collective led by Blur singer Damon Albarn and Tank Girl cartoonist Jamie Hewlett (U.K.), plus producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura (California), created a technicolor collage out of backpacker hip-hop, Britpop balladry, and Jamaican dub. Their loopy smash "Clint Eastwood" (featuring a sleepy rap by Del the Funky Homosapien) bumrushed metal-and teenpop-clogged radio, and Gorillaz camped out high on the Billboard 200 for half a year, going platinum and counting. All this while the band hid behind four goofy anime characters. "What's great about Gorillaz," says Albarn, "is that the [cartoon concept] allows kids to tap into music they wouldn't go anywhere near otherwise. I mean, this is pretty weird music!"
Ill NinoLatin angst and supremely pissed-off soul collides head-on with driving guitars, unrelenting percussion and melodies that alternately soothe and draw blood. With a membership South American and Latin born, New Jersey's Ill Nino have rapidly emerged as one of the most dynamic and explosive bands to hit the heavy music realm today.

Insane Clown PosseCrazy, insane, twisted? A few words that come to mind when describing this mesh of rock and hip hop. Definitely a great band to listen to when you're pissed off.
kittieA heavy metal girl band from London, Ontario, Canada. Very funny to listen to, and quite entertaining. Specially when they're screaming their heads off.

PowerMan 5000Blurring the line between fact and fiction, PM5K's songs are soundtracks to the bizarre scenes playing out in Spider One's hyperactive imagination. These musical tales are most often inspired by trash pop culture, superheroes and villains, low-budget action, sci-fi and horror movies, and myriad other phantasmagorical mayhem. "Non-reality is my reality," Spider affirms. "From 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' to 'Night of the Living Dead', from Stan Lee to Bruce Lee - it's all in the music." Word of Powerman 5000's emergence spread quickly throughout the Boston underground and beyond.
RammsteinThere is no other band that sounds remotely like Rammstein. The East German sextet's unique blend of metal, industrial, techno and classical musical elements has made it one of Europe's most successful rock bands ever since the 1995 release of its debut album HERZELEID (which went platinum in several Euro territories). Its successor SEHNSUCHT (released abroad in 1997, and as the band's U.S. debut in January 1998) was not only the logical continuation of the musical concept, but also even more successful than album No. 1. with platinum in Germany AND in the USA and a string of awards in other European countries, Rammstein secured their place in the history of rock music - a development on which their third album MUTTER will build.
The Dresden Dollsare an American musical duo from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 2001, the group consists of Amanda Palmer (vocals, piano, harmonica, ukelele) and Brian Viglione (drums, percussion, guitar, vocals). The two describe their style as "Brechtian punk cabaret", a phrase invented by Palmer because she was "terrified" that the press would invent a name that "would involve the word gothic." The Dresden Dolls are part of an underground dark cabaret movement that started gaining momentum in the early 1990s.
